   <span style="color: blue;">Wikipedia</span><span style="background-color: #f3f3f3;">: </span> Judge Hatchett is an American arbitration-based reality court show, produced and distributed by Sony Pictures Television. The series premiered on September 4, 2000 and ran for nine seasons until its cancellation on May 23, 2008.<br />

The series starred The Honorable Glenda Hatchett and was modeled after other "court shows" such as Judge Judy and the long running The People's Court, as well as containing elements from tabloid talk shows such as Sally Jessy Raphael and Maury Povich. In addition to dealing with traditional small-claims lawsuits (with a plaintiff, defendant, and monetary awards sought), she also handled DNA paternity tests and out of control teens. Originally, gentle and compassionate, Hatchett would later become a more scurrilous and scalding disciplinarian, intent on teaching young people a lesson by sending them on corrective trips. The show would follow these youths on the corrective trips that Hatchett sent them on.<br />

Judge Hatchett ran interventions for troubled teens. Among Judge Hatchett's recommendations for intervention and other help were Tommy the Clown, an eighteen-year-old mayor, prisons and Martin Luther King's daughter. On one occasion, Judge Hatchett ran an intervention herself, running the building of an outdoor theater which ended up being named after her as a thanks. It was filmed at the Chelsea Studios in New York City.<br />

After Judge Hatchett drew low ratings and key ABC Owned and Operated Stations began dropping the show, Sony Pictures Television made the decision to cancel the show. It has continued in reruns since.[3] Reruns aired on Black Entertainment Television, and was also offered by Sony in a barter package meant for low-rated stations looking to find content between 2010 and 2012. In March, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said the killings were the result of a systematic failure by the city police department.</div>

The president of the United States, president Barrack Obama has urged Americans to accept the Grand Jury's decision not to indict officer  Darren Wilson over shooting of unarmed teen Michael Brown.<br />

President Barack Obama appealed for calm and understanding in Ferguson on Monday after a grand jury decided not to indict in the death of Michael Brown, pleading with both residents and police officers to show restraint.<br />
<br />
"We are a nation built on the rule of law, so we need to accept that this decision was the grand jury's to make," Obama said.<br />
<br />
In a late-night statement from the White House, Obama said it was understandable that some Americans would be "deeply disappointed ? even angered" that police officer Darren Wilson wasn't indicted. Yet he echoed Brown's parents in calling for any protests to be peaceful, saying that their wishes should be honoured as they grieve their son.<br />
<br />
At the same time, Obama sought to dispel the notion that race relations have deteriorated, the protests in Ferguson notwithstanding. He called for Americans to turn their attention to ways to bring police and their communities closer together.<br />
<br />
"That won't be done by throwing bottles. That won't be done by smashing car windows. That won't be done by using this as an excuse to vandalise property," Obama said. "It certainly won't be done by hurting anybody."<br />
<br />
Yet the scene playing out in suburban Missouri, just minutes after the grand jury's announcement, stood in stark contrast to Obama's calls for calm. As Obama spoke live from the White House briefing room, television networks showed Obama on one side of the screen, and violent demonstrations in Ferguson on the other.<br />
<br />
Police said protesters smashed windows, vandalised police cars and threw rocks at authorities as anger erupted after the announcement Monday night that Wilson, a white officer, wouldn't be indicted for shooting Brown. The death of the unarmed, black 18-year-old in August sparked weeks of protests that authorities feared would be revived after the grand jury's decision was handed down.<br />
<br />
Outside the White House, a few hundred people protested peacefully, holding up signs reading "Justice for Michael Brown" and chanting "Hands up, don't shoot" ? a refrain that's become a rallying cry in Ferguson since Brown's death.<br />
<br />
"This is not just an issue for Ferguson, this is an issue for America," Obama said. "There are still problems, and communities of colour aren't just making this up."<br />
<br />
Obama, who has faced repeated calls to visit Ferguson, said he would "take a look" at whether such a visit would now be wise. The Justice Department is conducting a separate investigation into possible civil rights violations that could result in federal charges. Attorney General Eric Holder called Brown's death a "tragedy" and said federal investigators were taking pains not to jump to conclusions.<br />
<br />
"While constructive efforts are under way in Ferguson and communities nationwide, far more must be done to create enduring trust," Holder said.<br />
<br />
The uproar sparked by Brown's death has challenged Obama to find constructive, measured ways to address the deep racial tensions exposed by the incident without alienating law enforcement or casting undue blame amid ongoing investigations.<br />
<br />
In 2012, Obama spoke passionately after the death of teenager Trayvon Martin, telling the public that "if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon." But the circumstances in Ferguson were different, with a police officer claiming self-defence, and Obama has sought to avoid inflaming racial divisions.<br />
<br />
In his remarks on Monday, Obama urged the country to channel its frustration in ways that would be constructive, not destructive. He said within his own life, he had witnessed "enormous progress" on race.<br />

"To deny that progress, I think, is to deny America's capacity for change," Obama said.<br />

Okupe’s statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to comments made by a former President of this country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, regarding the performance of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.<br />
<br />
“Obasanjo had at an event over the weekend declared that he rated the President Goodluck Jonathan administration ‘below average’.<br />
<br />
“We aver that Obasanjo’s comments are untrue, misleading and clearly do not tally with the facts on the ground.<br />
<br />
“We therefore wish to assert without equivocation that in terms of performance and achievements, no administration since 1960 when Nigeria gained independence from Britain, has done as much as that of President Jonathan.”<br />
<br />
He said that every discerning and unbiased Nigerian would definitely attest to this “as the evidence stare all of us in the face.”<br />
<br />
Okupe, who had also worked with the former President while in office, added that contrary to Obasanjo’s position, the Federal Government under Jonathan had performed excellently given the prevailing circumstances and resources available to it.<br />
<br />
He said while it was true that Nigeria had been faced with incidents of insurgency and terrorism, especially in the last few years, the Jonathan administration had successfully contained the initial widespread activities of the insurgents, which he said were prevalent in 12 states of the North, including the Federal Capital Territory.<br />
<br />
He added, “While it is true that the present activities of the terrorists in the three north-eastern states have become more deadly in mindless killings, kidnappings and supposed territorial seizures, government has made giant diplomatic strides with our neighbouring countries in order to checkmate the crisscrossing of the insurgents.<br />
<br />
“The military and other security agents, which have engaged the insurgents since inception, have done a great job in spite of recent challenges.<br />
<br />
“The truth of the matter which we must know and accept is that we have an internal enemy supported by internal and external resources waging a major warfare against our nation.”<br />

After spending months appealing for calm, Micheal Brown's family could not hide their anger last night when it was announced that the grand jury had decided not to charge Officer Darren Wilson.<br />
Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden, stood sobbing and screaming on top of a car with her husband and friends outside Ferguson police department.<br />
